Cosmetic surgery is a developing industry with a uniquely global phenomenon. Feminists have been critical of aesthetics surgery practice, offering a range of representations in regard to 'identity', 'normality', 'cultural and social pressures', 'agency' and 'self-enhancement'. Discourses around minimizing risk information acknowledge deficits in not supplying patients with full risk information. The results are usually devastating and lead to serious health complications that incisively diminish well-being for patients and increase health costs.
Devoted to the improvement or alteration of human appearance Cosmetic operations include those on the nose (rhinoplasty), the ears (otoplasty), the chin (mentoplasty) and the breasts (augmentation or reduction mammoplasty).Operative procedure in which the principal purpose is to improve the appearance, usually with the connotation that the improvement sought is beyond the normal appearance, and its acceptable variations, for the age and physical state of the patient and the aesthetic beauty.
The word ‘cosmeceutical’ is becoming more routine in the sphere of natural organic skincare. It describes a product that is a blend of cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. A cosmeceutical is basically a skincare product that contains a biologically active compound that is believed to have therapeutic effects on the skin. They are products with bioactive ingredients claimed to have medicinal or drug-like benefits.
Cosmetic Dermatology majorly focuses on the improvement, enhancement and appearance of skin, hair and nails aesthetically, artistically and cosmetically. It is rarely considered as a medical necessity, it can still resolve medical dermatological concerns. Treatments that are related to Advanced Dermatology (ADCS) range from deep cleansing, refreshing, rejuvenating, and restoring skin texture and tone, to reducing skin imperfections. This session will cover all the aspects of the cosmetology and dermatology.
New ventures are being found in green cosmetology stating the use of naturally derived and synthetically made organic products. The synthetic products are also chemical-based but derived from natural extracts. Spanish Lavender extract is being used to reduce wrinkle formation; retinoic acid from rosehip seed oil is used as a substitute of retinol to reduce the appearance of fine lines.
Surgery is performed to restore an individual’s body i.e. to improve the functioning of the body parts. It covers a wide range of conditions. Reconstructive surgery is performed as a part of cosmetic surgery to restore faces after trauma and to reconstruct the head and neck after cancer. The common feature is that the operation attempts to restore the anatomy or the function of the body part to normal.
